Ironman Australia Triathlon

This consultation has concluded.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has established this online discussion forum as part of the ongoing evaluation of the Ironman Australia Triathlon. Port Macquarie has hosted the Ironman event for a number of years with the 2011 event the first under the ownership of World Triathlon Corporation.

The purpose of this forum is to create a discussion where you can share your expectations and experiences of the Ironman race that was held in May this year and offer thoughts more broadly on improving the planning, communication and community aspects of Ironman and other major events.

Ironman Australia is part of a broader tourism events strategy devised by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association, with the hosting rights confirmed for the next four years. Around 2000 people volunteer for Ironman each year, creating a significant community building opportunity.

With the next Ironman race scheduled for 6 May 2012, now is the time to share your thoughts on how Ironman impacts you and your suggestions for improvement.
