This consultation has concluded.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is coordinating a community celebration to mark the opening of the new Oxley Highway from Pacific Highway in to Port Macquarie. This event is tentatively scheduled for the end of November / early December 2011.
As part of the planning for this celebration Council wants to hear from its community, the participants, how you would like to celebrate and be involved.

The Oxley Highway is a primary arterial link between Wauchope and Port Macquarie. What suggestions do you have for incorporating this linkage into the community celebration?

A celebration before the road is open to traffic would allow public access that won't be available any other time. What suggestions do you have for the sort of events that would attract people to the celebration?
Ideas to date include a community walk along the road or perhaps a 'free wheel' encouraging bikes, scooters and other wheeled access to the road.

Taking into account that the Oxley Highway Opening is tentatively scheduled for late November / Early December do you think more people would attend a community celebration in the morning, afternoon or twilight?
