Towards 2030 Community Vision

This consultation has concluded.

The first document in Council’s long term Community Strategic Plan has been approved for public exhibition.

The Towards 2030 Community Vision was developed as a result of the Community Forum held in June last year along with a telephone survey, focus groups and surveys in shopping centres. It outlines the community’s desired objectives and outcomes in areas of environment, our people, land use, transport, education and governance.

To ensure Council has correctly captured the community’s aspirations and priorities a survey is being conducted in conjunction with the document’s exhibition. The full survey is available in the document library on the right.

This forum discussion will provide greater detail on the key points from the survey and in the document.

Transport has been a big discussion point. Examples of this discussion include minimising personal car reliance; linking modes of transport together (one idea suggested being regular shuttle buses carrying drivers into the CBD from satellite car parks) and revising our strategies for managing parking.

Previous consultation and research suggests we should cluster employment, population growth and services in designated areas (also known as hubs). Do you support this type of planning?
